Wanis Nafo, PhD

Marie Skłodowska Curie Research Fellow, School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences, University of Galway

Wanis is a multidisciplinary scholar with expertise in applied mechanics, materials science, and industrial & medical radiation. He holds a BASc from the University of Benghazi, MASc and PhD from the University of Waterloo. For the past 8 years, he has first-hand performed internationally acknowledged research and participated in several award-winning projects in experimental and computational nonlinear solid mechanics. 

Wanis is a Marie Skłodowska Curie Research Fellow. His current research focuses on developing a new generation of multi-functional nanocarriers for cancer therapy applications. Previously, his research tackled challenges associated with surgical implants, tissues degeneration, sports injuries, self-healing polymers, composite materials, and nanomaterials.
