Volunteering

Aside from my research, I enjoy volunteering in a variety of activities and events. Below you can find out more about my volunteering experiences.

  • ExpecTAtions, University of Waterloo (2016, 2017, 2018,2019)

ExpecTAtions is a program in which senior graduate students and faculty members volunteer their time to introduce new students to teaching ethics and methods in the faculty of Engineering. It is mandatory for new graduate students before becoming teaching assistants for their home departments. I volunteered as a student mentor.

  • Waterloo FIRST Robotics Competition, University of Waterloo (2019)

FIRST is a robotics competition where high-school students design and build their robots to tackle a different annual challenge. I volunteered in this competition as a judge.

  • Teaching and Learning Conference, University of Waterloo (2018)

This conference invited faculty and Ph.D students from all around Canada to participate and share their teaching strategies. I volunteered with the University of Waterloo to be a reviewer for the abstracts submitted for this conference.

Hobbies

When I need to relax and take some time off from working, teaching and volunteering, I like to spend my leisure time doing a variety of activities
